Blue Screen

Postby justme1 » Fri Apr 09, 2010 1:04 pm

Hello,
I am hoping someone here could help me with my problem. we have GV800 with 2 cameras connected using software V6.1. in the past 2-3 months ever since we had it installed in that computer we get BSOD pretty much every day. sometimes after 2-3 days but usually after a day. the blue screen gives this error:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
*STOP: 0x0000000A (0x000084B4, 0x0000001C, 0x00000000, 0X804FA276)
I am attaching some of the .dmp files it created which all point to the file GV800V3.sys ("Probably caused by : GV800V3.sys ( GV800V3+4455 )"

I have already tried reinstalling from fresh but it makes no difference. I know this file belongs to geovision software and I've even tried replacing it with a newer version of the file but it didn't work.

The computer is IBM ThinkCentre M52 8215 (lenovo)
Intel Dual Core Pentium D945
Chipset: Intel Lakeport-G i945G
Memory: 512MB DDR2-667
Video: Intel GMA 950
Windows XP SP3

The program works great as well as the webcam, the only problem are the frequant BSOD's.
Incase you need to know, It did not come with the USB dongle thing which is why I can't upgrade the software.

Would appreciate any help!

Hi There

Your error message refers to a problem with your memory. Please see here for more information:

Hi, and thank you for replying.
When the BSODs started I did run memtest on the existing memory stick which came up with no errors but just incase I did buy a brand new 1GB stick the other day and have replaced the memory and even put it in the other slot. unfortunately it didn't help and this morning after a day + a few hours the blue screen returned. the error was just a bit different - the first numbers inside the ( ) is 0xf790e804 instead of 0x000084b4 and all the rest is the same. it still points to GV800V3.sys and I know it's the problem but I've tried updating the drivers again to the ones from software V8.3.3 but it made no difference.

I am attaching the new minidump file.
Any help is appreciated!

UPDATE:

Updating the BIOS didn't help either. I then tried 2 different things: 1) I decided to see if there is an even more updated driver for my Intel GMA 950 [Intel 82945G chipset] video card on Intel's site itself instead of what they offered on IBM's site for my pc model. it was a bit newer version dated almost a year later (2008 instead of 2007) so I figured I will try and install it in the hopes that it solves the BSODs. 2) a day later I increased the size of the virtual memory (paging file) manually.

One of these two must have done the trick, can't really know which but as long as it works and the pc is stable with no blue screens we are happy. the PC is now up for 3 days straight so it's safe to say problem solved but we'll give it a few more days until we can really be sure. hope it can be useful for others with the same situation.

Well I spoke too soon - it just happened again. so it lasted longer this time but wasn't enough to solve it for good unfortunately.

justme1,

Did you managed to get resolved on this problem?

I have a very similar problem.

Windows Server 2003 SP2 (Version 5.2 Build 3790.srv03_sp2).

Try SP2 for older GV versions, if you have a card with BNC connectors
