If your surveillance system is outdoors in an unprotected environment you will be most certainly be needing weatherproof camera's. Weatherproof cameras come with built in protection from rain and strong winds so there is no need to house your cameras to protect them, they can also come with built in infra red vision for night-time surveillance so they are ideal for outdoor systems.
