Infra Red cameras are amongst the most popular CCTV cameras due to their ability to see in complete darkness - unlike other cameras who although very effective still need a certain amount of light to perform. This makes this type of camera ideal for areas which are locked in such as internal rooms or walk in safes.

Infra Red Features

Infra red can be added to a body camera with separate Infra Red Illuminators or more conveniently, buy a CCTV Camera with Infra Red LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) built in. They are available in internal and external weatherproof versions to allow full installation flexibility. The lenses are available in fixed lens which allows a fixed focal length and area or the vari-focal adjustable lens. Range can vary from 10 to 100m in night-time mode.

Other features that come with the Infra Red Camera are the built-in True Day/Night Cut Filter which will greatly increase the quality of night time images and most cameras also come with a cable managed bracket so the important cables are hidden from tampering.
