Is It Too Early To ‘Right-Off’ Analogue CCTV?

The new generation of CCTV Technology, IP Cameras, are beginning to flex their ‘megapixel muscles’ and many of us are gasping in amazement at the new image quality and the fact that these cameras can produce many millions of pixels (compared to say 400,000 pixels an analogue camera might produce).

But what about the analogue cctv technology?
Will the battle to provide more and more pixels on a camera stop the enhancements still possible in analogue technology and what about the millions of legacy cctv installs that are currently running on Coaxial Cable?

Security Systems and there uses are extremely far reaching nowadays.

CCTV solutions come in a variety of options depending on the budget, features and functionality required and include:

  • A basic DVR recording box to capture video to a PC Hard Disk
  • A PC Based DVR/NVR with advanced software features e.g. GeoVision
  • A DVR/NVR with advanced features e.g. Dedicated Micros
  • An IP Camera with built in storage, or connected to a Network Video Recorder (NVR) e.g. AXIS
