CCTV On Your Mobile Phone
I’ve just been playing with the new iPhone client for our surveillance system, powered by GeoVision software!
It’s what you’d expect from an iPhone app; Slick looking with the ability to move your fingers in all directions to flick through your cameras and even move and zoom in your PTZs!
The live display is set to a 6 camera view (3 columns of 2 cameras) and sliding your finger across the screen takes you to the next 6.

View CCTV on your iPhone
Double tap a camera and you’re in single screen mode. Yes, you can rotate your iPhone and the cctv app automatically follows and adjusts beautifully!
Whilst in this single camera view you can also take snapshots and even move a Pan Tilt Zoom Camera. Again, sliding your finger across the screen will move the camera in the direction you choose and making that patented two finger stroke(!) you can zoom the camera in or out…wow!
As well as live viewing, there’s also the ability to playback recorded video too.
It’s still in Beta version but is in the Apple App Store processing queue so fingers crossed it should be available for everyone to enjoy soon!
This mobile phone client for CCTV is nothing new but adds to the already impression array of options for viewing CCTV on a mobile phone.
We now have:
iPhone CCTV
Blackberry CCTV
Smartphone CCTV
Symbian Phone CCTV (e.g. Nokia N95)
Windows Mobile Phone CCTV (e.g. a HTC or XDA)
What DVRs does the software support?
This is a GeoVision software app so you would need to get a GeoVision system in order to use it on your iPhone.
